ROAD MAINTENANCE

SNOW PLOWING

 On Saturday January 4, 2025, snow fell in Montana. Snow totals across the Mesa varied, and in some areas, it was less than 8 inches. 

By Sunday, snow depths had receded.

• Vendor service is not guaranteed, and this time Vendors were not available.
• There is no standing contract for “plowing” services.
• The association DOES NOT OWN “PLOWING” equipment.
• Snow clearing was done by volunteers to the best of their ability. Thank you, to those volunteers!
• The standing policy is “Snow plowing- Done as needed, generally the rule is an 8-inch or more snowfall.”
• If an association member “needs” snow cleared call the Chairman or a Board Member-listed on the RMLA website: https://roundupmesalandownersassociation.com/home-page. Or reach out to Secretary.RMLA@outlook.com.
• It snows in the winter in Montana, and it creates snowflakes.
• Potential liability for damage to or displacement of unauthorized third-party utility markers in the ROW, interferes with the RMLA’s Vendors ability to clear snow.

  ROAD MAINTENANCE AND WEED SPRAYING

Grading and spraying are complete.

WEED SPRAYING

Remaining roads will be sprayed (weather permitting) the week of July 1.  This includes Roundup Mesa from Hwy 87 to the intersection with Sunshine, East Sunshine and Snowflake (plus side roads).  No spray lots have been marked.

Last year, a selective chemical was used, and the results were not satisfactory to many of the residents. In an effort to satisfy everyone, this year we will be using a “kills-all” chemical, the brand per the advice of the Weed Control Office. This will be applied using a licensed-certified contractor, so will be more costly than last year.
